Every Day Life...

Aspen just continues to grow. It's so fun watching and helping her along. Lately we've been busy, but just the "normal" everyday busyness. Here are a few snapshots of our little Brooks.

Aspen loves her dog, "nanas" better known as bananas, and just about any other food. She is catching onto sign language pretty good...not incredible, but gradually getting a few signs. Aspen has a way of wiggling out of all her shirts right now. If it's a onesie, she's fine, but anything else, she will either get one or both arms through the neck hole. She even got her arms out if a button up, except through the bottom instead if the top... Lol Silly Girl!

The other day Aspen surprised us...she was kinda fussy, trying to talk but just couldn't. She ended up pulled her diaper bag off the table, and looked at me "talking" until I opened it up. I pulled out a diaper and asked her if she wanted to be changed; instantly she walked to the rug, and laid down waiting for me. She was only wet, but sure knew what she wanted! :)

Friday of TMEA

On Friday, we just hung around during the day.... Aspen stayed in her stroller alot. Brian has a few concerts to attend, but in-between we followed my parents through the exhibits & visited with other friends. Aspen loved PawPaw carrying her around in the exhibit hall...and I think he enjoyed showing her off to lots of his band friends...

Friday evening we were able to meet up with our dear friends, Jessica & David!!! We met them at Alamo Cafe, then fellowshipped more at their home afterwards. Thank you Jessica & David for such a great time! And for the tea!!! :D I wish I'd taken pictures!!!

On Saturday, we visited another good friend of Brian's, then saw his cousin Lucy. Again, no pictures (at least on my phone that I can post...they're on my camera.) We had wonderful visits though!

The trip was great, and we look forward to going back...probably to the convention this summer. :)

Thursday Night

This first picture was taken before we ate the banana... :) My big girl sitting by the window in her stroller.

After Brian's meeting, he had quartet rehearsal. So, we tagged along to that too... Aspen was SO tired! But, she loved the music! She just kinda "danced" and giggled the whole time. When we finally got her to bed, she knocked right out...and slept late the next morning!

The Banana

Thursday night of the Convention in San Antonio was a little crazy. Mom & I has spent the day shopping, and Aspen had even gotten a decent afternoon nap. We met up with Brian around 4 or 5 I believe, and I has planned on going back to our hotel before it got too late to walk back by myself, but I lost track of time, thus were stuck....

Brian & his staff had a meeting in the Grand Hyatt, so Aspen & I found a little spot overlooking the busy street below and waiting for the meeting to end. To pass the time, I fed Aspen HEB cheerios and a banana. I enjoyed snacking on the cheerios too; when Aspen realized I was eating her cheerios, she started sharing the ones in her hand with me. She'd reach over & want to put it in my mouth. So sweet.... After awhile, I started to tell her to eat it...which she would...for a few seconds, then she'd take it out, and offer it to me again. :) Thus my dilemma was, "I teach her to share, and now I'm refusing her sharing, and telling her no." We ate all our cheerios that night, and moved on to the banana.... Aspen LOVES!!!!! Bananas. I snapped a few pictures of her enjoying it, thinking you might think it was cute.

Brian's Birthday

Well...I'm over a week late, so let's try to catch up a bit...

Last Wednesday, or really, Wednesday before last, the 8th, was my sweet husband's birthday. We spent the morning traveling to San Antonio for Texas Musician Educators Association (I think) TMEA...it's a 4-day work related convention for Brian. I grew up going to it with my family, so it's only natural to go some more. The Lord worked it out for Aspen & I to tag along this year and we were excited...but, that's the next post...

We ended being able to have breakfast with my parents in Columbus, Texas at McDonald's. Then it was straight to the convention. Brian had a session at 12:00, so while he went there us girls went shopping...mainly to purchase a jacket for the Birthday Boy since he forgot his. :) Yay!! I was so thrilled when the Lord provided a very nice one for a great price. The afternoon was busy, but we were able to celebrate that evening at Denny's with Ruben. :) Brian's birthday was very low-key, as far as I planned, but it was special. Brian thanks everyone for the sweet cards, texts, and birthday wishes!!!

I love you Brian & am SO thankful for you! Happy Birthday!

Moreno February Birthday

This past Sunday, Mom Moreno threw together a very nice Birthday party for "Bear" (Brian) and Marisa, our niece. We got to their home right after church, just in time for breakfast as they fed "the kids." After we at some extra yummy eggs, bacon, tortillas & hash browns Mom let me help her whip together chocolate cupcakes for Bear, and yellow bundt cake for Marisa. I really enjoyed working on it together. After we were through, Mom let Kilyn "clean" the batter bowl. Aspen could tell it was something special, and I thought it was so cute her looking up to her cousin at the table. :) I am SO SO sorry to say those are the only two pictures I took at the party. :( It was extra special & fun though! Thank you Mom & Dad for honoring Bear & a great afternoon!

After the party, we headed back to church. Brian ran the soundboard for choir practice, so Aspen & I just walled around. At one point, she kinda tripped or something, somehow landed on the floor. She was SO tired she just laid there...rolled a little bit, but pretty much just rested for a minute. ONLY a minute though.

On Monday night, Brian pushed Aspen around on a box in the house. I thought the picture was cute...fuzzy, and definitely NOT the best, but cute.

My Family

Hasn't the Lord blessed me with a sweet & precious family?!?!?! :) I just wanted to share the Goodness of our God with you.

I think Caleb took this picture for us (really for Mom McDonald), and then Becky sweetly sent it to me so I'd have it on my phone. Huge Thank you to you both! My little family wasn't prepared for a family picture to be taken or else we would've coordinated better...but, sometimes it's the ones that don't match at all that are the best.
